STORYTELLING / DIGITAL NARRATIVE (2021-22)

A tribute to Mother Earth is inspired in our personal relationship with the planet Earth not as an object or a source but as an alive divine entity that holds our very inner sacred nature. A Mother where we belong. In the 21st century, many indigenous peoples base their environmental extraction concerns on the Pachamama (embodied the Andes), saying that earthquakes and harvesting problems arise when people take too much from nature.

Pachamama interweaves syncretic traditions with contemporary technology, questioning the authority of scientific reductionism in legitimizing cultural erasure.

Also Trans people present here their imaginary and artistic expression. This group is often marginalized and victimized in public spaces. Digital visualisation of ones inner garden (safe space) can help reduce cortisol levels during traumatic memories. The relationship to Self is cultivated inside and outside.

Mother Earth’s diversity is represented in a multimedia dance performance that encompasses a collection of images, sounds, and people’s insights. Symbolic elements such as corn—sacred to the original peoples of Abya Yala—along with stones and seeds, are animated through stop motion, juxtaposed with high-end digital techniques like cloud point. Video mapping invites the transformation of violence and indifference into a tribute to Mother Earth, which is an issue that concerns us all.

TECHNIQUES

All the tools and equipment used in this project were done in a self-taught way, which means many hours of learning tutorials, observing, trials and error. We are happy for the positive technical achievements after 6-12 months of research, with all the effort that it takes.
